When a Global Logistics Company was tasked with a rushed shipment of pharma product originating out of Lockbourne, Ohio, and headed for Chengdu, China, they were met with the challenge of keeping the product within CRT (15°C –25°C) specifications from origin to destination. Traveling in a temperature-controlled van over the road, the product still needed protection during its flight overseas. The reduced availability of airline pharma service space and the high cost of temp-controlled cargo options meant the rush shipment would fly via standard airfreight service. The shipping and logistics company knew that passive thermal protection would be necessary and that it would have to be applied before delivery to the airline.

QProducts was able to provide a convenient location near O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago for the application of a PalletQuilt thermal cover with gel sleeves to maintain CRT temperature range of the product for the remainder of its transit to China.
QProducts technical services team quickly applied thermal protection to the CRT pallet. Once complete the driver tendered freight to the ORD airport carrier, and the shipment arrived at Chengdu without issue.
